Our Legacy

From defining milestones to transformative innovations, explore how decades of ingenuity, dedication, and leadership transformed Pana-Pacific into the industry leader it is today.

A History of Partnerships

Pana-Pacific began in 1971 when Harry and Mariann Brix founded an aftermarket car stereo business serving the rapidly developing Silicon Valley region. From the outset, the company operated with a foundation of trust, service, and entrepreneurial ambition — principles that shaped a series of long-term supplier partnerships central to the organization’s identity.

A pivotal relationship formed when Panasonic selected The Brix Group as its exclusive distributor for commercial vehicle radio products, a collaboration that ultimately led to enduring growth of Pana-Pacific.

An equally long-standing partnership developed with SiriusXM, beginning in the early era of satellite radio and continuing as the brand’s entertainment solutions became deeply embedded across commercial vehicle OEM platforms. Additional multi-decade collaborations with Marvel Communications and ProComm contributed to the delivery of dependable communication, antenna, and safety solutions trusted throughout the commercial transportation industry.

These partnerships continue to represent a shared commitment to loyalty, integrity, and sustained value for customers and manufacturers alike.

Innovation that Shapes the Future

The Brix Group’s progression into new markets was driven by Harry Brix’s ability to recognize opportunity — most notably in the emerging cellular phone industry of the early 1980s. A chance conversation with Motorola CEO Chris Galvin transformed an otherwise unproductive meeting into a breakthrough distribution opportunity and led to the establishment of American Wireless. This business later became a national leader and is widely credited with pioneering the modern “Master Agent” model used throughout the wireless sector.

Following Harry Brix’s passing in 2009, The Brix Group and its operating companies continued to advance his legacy of innovation, long-term relationship building, and strategic adaptability.

Today, Pana-Pacific remains committed to honoring foundational partnerships while also cultivating new collaborations and embracing the evolving technologies that shape the commercial vehicle industry. The organization’s future continues to be defined by its adaptability to new opportunities and the entrepreneurial principles on which it was built.

Employee Owned Since 2017

On May 26, 2017, The Brix Group — an established leader in onboard entertainment and communication systems for the commercial vehicle industry — transitioned to 100% employee ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) created with the support of The Menke Group.

The ESOP was introduced as part of the company’s long-term succession strategy, ensuring the organization’s stability while rewarding employees for their ongoing commitment and performance. By directly linking employee contributions to financial benefit, the ESOP strengthens productivity, reinforces a collaborative ownership culture, and positions the company for continued long-term success.

The transition reflects The Brix Group’s belief that its people are central to its achievements, and employee ownership ensures the business remains strong and focused for many years to come.
