This kit includes a single rear facing camera which gets installed on the trailer, enabling a full field of view behind the trailer. The trailer kit is used in conjunction with a cab/tractor receiver kit* to enable the back-up camera to function wirelessly. The trailer transmitter included in the rear trailer camera kit draws power from the trailer ABS lead utilizing a “Y” connector included in the kit. The transmitter also uses that same power lead to pulse it's serial number via PLC, which the cab receiver will use to pair the devices. The cab/tractor receiver draws power from the DVR camera connection, but also connects to power/ground directly for PLC signal. The in-cab receiver hears the pulse and pairs the trailer transmitter utilizing a Wi-Fi signal. The trailer camera is then able to feed the rear view image to the trailer transmitter, which broadcasts it to the cab receiver using Wi-Fi. The cab receiver then passes the image to the DVR, where the feed will be recorded and available for accident or other onboard event recreation. If Driver Assist is in usage (requiring a PeopleNet/Trimble display** and appropriate cables***), then the DVR is also connected to the reverse line. If Driver Assist is deployed, the in cab display will automatically show the rear camera's view to act as a back-up monitor when the vehicle is put into reverse.
